This trail is reserved for advanced and expert riders!  It is slightly deceiving as you leave the parking lot and start your ascent towards Blackmore Lake.  The first two miles is easily ridden by a strong intermediate.  Just prior to reaching the lake you are greeted by a steep, technical, rock filled downhill (remember you need to ride back up this on the return trip).  Once past the lake the trail becomes very steep and peppered with off-camber roots and large rocks.  The trail does not let off at any point until you reach the branch that heads up toward the true summit (sorry, bikes are not allowed up this last portion).

Driving Directions:

Departing from Bozeman, drive west on Main Street and take a left (south) on 19th.  Continue to drive on 19th Street headed south out of town for approximately 7 miles until you reach the turn to Hyalite Canyon.  Make a left-hand turn onto Hyalite Canyon Road and continue for approximately 10 miles to the trailhead on your right. The trailhead is located just prior to the dam for Hyalite reservoir and the trailhead is well marked.
