Close to town and a great loop for quick lunch lap or squeezing in a ride before dark.  This is also a great trail for beginners and intermediates starting to wet their appetite for mountain biking but not completely ready to go ride full on single track trails.  The first mile is a mix of doubletrack and wider singletrack giving the rider a little room to breathe.  At 1.6 miles the trail forks, if you are looking for a more challenging climb (go left, clockwise, 1.1 miles to summit) or if a little more mellow climb is what you are looking for (go right, counterclockwise, 1 mile to summit).  Once you reach the bench at the top take a few minutes to take in the great views of bozeman below and the surrounding mountains.  Be aware of others hiking and riding during your descent and give them the right away.  This trail is a heavily used trail by all so please respect the rules of the trail and have a great ride!

Driving Directions:

Departing from Main street in downtown, take South Church Avenue (this will become Sourdough road after crossing Kagy) heading south to the signed parking lot on the left.
